Hellogoodbye is a four man band from Huntington Beach, California, a place thats known for some top quality punk and hardcore bands. Hellogoodbye isn’t punk and they are hardly hardcore. I think you could categorize them as some sort of a boy band with a synthpop/powerpop sound. They don’t appeal to me at all I think their music is a little cheesy. Apparently not everyone agrees with me because my cousin Jacob is such a huge fan that he always quarrels with me over the merits of Hellogoodbye.
He lent me some hellogoodbye albums but I thought that they weren’t that impressive. He also let me listen to some hellogoodbye ringtones and I thought that they were pretty alright. I checked out their latest album “ Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!†and thought that it was fairly listenable. Maybe I’ll like them more over time. Their singles have made the top 100 billboard charts, not that it matters to me. I’m more concerned about their sound, which is something I haven’t got used to yet. I think Hellogoodbye will be big in the future because they are really doing a lot of promotional and marketing work. Like any good commodity, I’m sure that they’ll achieve great success when they are well packaged and promoted.
